Watchstar made a handful of the mechanical automatic chronographs and via our factory direct relationship, we have what (to our knowledge) is the last of them that are NOT pre-owned and with full warranty. The 48mm x 17mm case is special if for no other reason than it contains certified “DNA” from a WWII 1938-1945 Supermarine Spitfire Battle of Britain, RAF Fighter Aircraft! This warbird actually participated in the battle. It houses the Asian 33 jewel TY2940 mechanical automatic chronograph movement (by comparison the more commonly found movements tend to use 25). Sapphire crystals front and back, both with custom decoration including the silhouette of the Spitfire on the back. The finished timepiece is finished in gold PVD plating, tested to 10 ATM of water resistance and presented on a silicon strap (recommended 8.25” inch wrist or less) with a custom Watchstar buckle. The MSRP is $2495.00, but reserve yours through TAW for just $299.99 with shipping included. AND you’ll be upgraded into the white luxury watch box! This is highly collectible and, of course, an unusually affordable automatic chronograph. So please move quick on this.
New Old Stock (NOS) delivers a fascinating watch! XOS Retro is likely best known for their DNA series based on classic cars and war machines. But their sister brand Watchstar did a series as well, based on the Battle of Gettysburg. Like their better known series, this one also contained “DNA”. This timepiece contains authentic and original metal from an original cannon ball canister recovered on Little Round Top, Gettysburg, PA. This material was certified by the Gettysburg Museum of History.
We experienced some unfortunate and unexpected email issues earlier in the week and due to that, we have decided to extend our "Big Game" sales (there are three of them) for a very short time to ensure that everyone is aware of them and has the opportunity to get one or more if they need to be in your collection. Please do have a look to see what is still available and make sure that you act before the count down timer on the page reaches all zeros. To those that were effected by our email issues, we do apologize and are working hard to ensure that we do not experience such issues again in the future.
Welcome to the Talk About Watches Live page! The show will begin on the Talk About Watches Facebook page (link below) at 10pm EST on 02/06/18. Tim's very special guest will be Avi Vieira and they will be presenting a number of great deals for you on XOSkeleton products. Products for purchase will be available on this page once the show starts. A replay of the live show will also be available below as quickly as we are able to get it processed and uploaded to the interwebs.
The Titanic is arguably the most infamous seafaring disasters of all time. To date we know of two watches that incorporated actual dna from the wreck. One is the Romain Jerome which ranges from about $6K (pre-owned) to over $30K. The other was Watchstar which, a few years ago, obtained coal certified from the site and placed it in stars on the underside of the chamfered crystal. This watch sold out shortly after the debut and sightings since have seen scarce. Your watch ships with certificate of authenticity and the amazing heavy Watchstar luxury packaging. Any history buff or watch fan in search of a true collectible will want this. We’ve checked and there are no more beyond what has been located; please act quickly as ALL color options are extremely limited!
Based on the popularity of previous Watchstar offerings, we are very pleased to be able to offer you yet another elusive Watchstar timepiece in the form of the Super Star Skeleton Automatic. But, even more than usual, we do want you to know that these two options are very limited in quantity. Therefore, you do need to please act quickly on these and making your purchasing decision. We do not know if we will ever be able to bring these models back. Nor do we know if pricing will remain the same if we are able to.
We were just notified of this availability and we’ve rushed to let you know right away. This is not just another two tone; these are two very sought after and very scarce examples; rose/yellow or rose/blue combination of the 48mm Watchstar American Star, brand new in the magnificent high end packaging. These are NOT preowned, and that is important as we know of no other availability of this model outside of private collections since the rapid sellout several years ago. In fact this is the first new availability we’ve come across since then. We have very few (inside of 15) and when they are gone it is remote in the extreme we will see availability again; please act quickly on this!
One of the things Watchstar created was a fascinating series of designs based around the “DNA” idea of having pieces of a classic machine physically melted into the steel making up the case. The Quantico is such a build and one that has become sought after in the “I shoulda got that when it was available” genre. We have access to only a few of the green and even less of the blue. Please act quickly to secure your choice of colors.
Many of you may have noticed a resurgence in interest in Watchstar via social media. It’s a brand that, in our view, never got its due in the first go-round. So, it’s been interesting watching the discovery now spreading. One of the things to note immediately is that Watchstar was created by the same brilliant mind that created Generation I and II of XOSkeleton. Interestingly, the current owner of XOSkeleton made a point to acquire the brand, which has resulted in a direct deal to you, albeit in a very limited availability. Please check it out and act quickly to secure yours!
