Breitling is a watch manufacturer well known for their thermocompensated and COSC quartz timepieces. Now, via the new Breitling Exospace B55 Yachting edition, they meet that level as well as adding smartphone connectivity/pairing (via Bluetooth Low-Energy technology) and a massively feature rich timepiece via the in-house caliber B55 COSC certified movement. In a slightly larger 46mm case, many will be happy that it has been done in titanium (TI) to save on weight and is also available on a rubber strap as well. Learn more inside!
Harry Winston is probably not one of the first names that most watch collectors will think of when it comes to timepieces. They are primarily known for incredible and expensive jewelry designs. However, in the case of the Histoire de Tourbillon (as well as their Opus lines), they have a long history of amazing conceptual haute horlogerie limited editions. At Baselworld 2018, the latest model of the Histoire de Tourbillon was debuted and it does not disappoint! An incredible triaxial tourbillon implementation shows off the artistry from Harry Winston. In addition to the latest version of the Histoire de Tourbillon, we take you on a brief tour of the prior eight (8) versions as well.
We know that alot of you are fans of larger over-sized timepieces. With that in mind, we would like to introduce you to the Kerbedanz Maximus. The largest tourbillon ever put into a wristwatch. It is enormous and amazing! Not only do we take you on a bit of a deep dive of the Maximus, but we show you the prior record holder...the equally amazing Franck Muller Giga Tourbillon. And, we could touch a subject like this without mentioning the incredible Antoine Martin Slow Runner and the massive 24mm balance wheel that it utilizes. Enjoy!
The Breitling Chronomat B01 44 is a brand fan favorite and has been for some time. At Baselworld 2018, the newest version that was released continues the overall look, but done in a more subtle nature that will appeal to many. In particular, the case and bracelet is finished in 316L satin-brushed stainless steel. Additionally, the dial (available in "blackeye" blue and grey only) has been finished in a more simplified and subtle way. We did conduct an informal poll of the Talk About Watches staff in the office and, to a person, everyone likes the watch. The only "complaint" was an overall preference for less water resistance (this new model is 500m) and the inclusion of an exhibition caseback. What say you?
