What many people don't know is that Baselworld is more than just finished timepieces. It also has jewelry, software, tools, and many other categories. Including movements. With Baselworld 2018 rapidly approaching, Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier (VMF) has just recently announced the release of their latest high-end movement. The Calibre Seed VMF 6710. It is yet another stunning movement by VMF and we have no doubt that it will be yet another success for the brand. However, in the case of VMF, there is much more below the surface that may be of interest to the watch collector. Let us take you on a tour of this incredible movement as well as all of the other related information that may be of benefit and interest to you.

Edox always seems to have something up their sleeve (no pun intended) and it is no different with the latest version of the Sharkman 1000m Swiss Made diver. The beautiful blue dial on a traditional diver timepiece platform is sure to turn heads and the use of a quartz movement makes it not only a daily "grab and go" timepiece, but an affordable option for most collectors. The line up for Baselworld 2018 continues to grow.
Glashutte Original has announced the release of a new Senator Cosmopolite for Baselworld 2018. It is a stunningly beautiful timepiece in the tradition of German productions, primarily the 3/4 plate on the movement (the in-house 89-02) and a double swan neck regulator. This timepiece is perfect for the frequent world traveler as it supports a amazing selection of 36 time zones, including those with 1/2 hour and 3/4 hour off sets. New to the swan neck regulator? Not to worry as we have you fully covered there and show you all that you would want or need to know about it, what it does and how it does it. Sure to be a hit in Basel in just about a month!
In our second Pre-Basel 2018 installment, we present for your review the Grand Seiko 25th Anniversary Limited Edition timepiece. We attempt to lay out for you every possible detail of this amazing watch from the "zaratsu" polishing technique to the incredibly robust and complex movement inside of it, the 9F83A. We do hope that you'll have a look. In a world where quartz watches are often seen as cheap buys that end up being thrown away in a short time period (and most of them are!), this Grand Seiko proves that there is still a lot of life and watchmaking craftsmanship left in them. This is truly a timepiece that can be passed down from generation to generation!
