Monthly Archives: March 2018
2018 marks the 100th year anniversary at Citizen. And, at Baselworld 2018 they did not disappoint. As a part of that celebration, they debuted their new Calibre 0100 movement in the form of a clean and simplistic pocketwatch design that is, by the way, a proof of concept piece that will not be available for sale to the public. What makes this Eco-Drive technology drive movement so special is that they have achieved an ANNUAL accuracy rate of ±1 second! Think about that for a second. ANNUAL. Not daily. Not weekly. Not monthly. Per year! When it comes to COSC certified quartz movements, they are rate to an average daily rate of ± 0.07 seconds per day. Expanded out to a full 365 day year, that can be as much as ± 25.55 seconds per year! Additionally, keep in mind that unlike other very highly accurate timepieces on the market, the new Calibre 0100 movement is autonomously based on a completely internal mechanism with no reliance whatsoever on any time signals from radio towers or GPS satellites.
Showcase a bit of American military history on your wrist. This XO Retro contains metal, or DNA, from an actual M1 Abrams tank, circa 1991. The 44mm case is layered with 18k gold and contains this metal melted into the surgical grade steel, with a portrait of the tank featured on the reverse of the leather strap. The dial is protected by a Diamond FX crystal featuring 18 layers of UV protective coating on the inside and outstanding scratch resistance capability on the outside. Contained within is the Japanese Miyota 6P80 movement featuring quickset date. The leather strap is a rich black with contrasting stitching and fits up to an 8.5” wrist.

Many of you know that GV2 is under the Gevril umbrella and like ourselves have collected them over the years. Think of them as the “sportier” brother within the luxury group. Today we’ve been given an offer on one of the coolest pieces they’ve built in awhile; the Motorcycle Sport. As the name states this mechanical automatic build is based on design elements of a high end racing bike. As with many GV2 builds the details stand out. For example, look at the shock absorber figures inset around the dial perimeter; the springs are actually fine pieces created and painted separately. The center of the dial is designed after the heavy spoke wheel, vented braking rotor and shoe, though which the date wheel appears with the chosen date highlighted via a window in the “shoe” area. Note that the shoe is set via screws into the dial build. The orange option takes the sporty flair beyond the others in that carbon fiber is featured on the dial plate. Inside pulses a MD3G Swiss made (Ruben and Sons SA) automatic movement showcased via the exhibition back. The 48mm x 14mm case is of 316L steel with the dial protected via anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The finished work is tested to 100M water resistance and presented on solid link 24mm bracelet which will fit up to 8.5” wrist. Given our brand direct relationship these ship brand new in original packaging with full factory warranty straight to you.
Invicta recently launched their high profile Character Collection and this timepiece features the much sought after Snoopy! The 47mm case in 316L stainless steel means fans of the bigger watch sizes can now enjoy the addition of their favorite character. His stark white contrasts beautifully with the surroundings of blacks and charcoals, highlighted by bright red hour markers, all beneath a mineral crystal. Inside is the rock solid NH35A 24 jewel automatic movement featured via the exhibition back! The finished timepiece is tested to 300M water resistance and presented on a 22mm bracelet with deployant clasp.
Henry London produces elegant classic watch designs, as one might well expect from a British company. The 41mm Westminster case is crafted in polished 316L steel, with a back specifically designed to support engraving. It contains a Japanese quartz chronograph movement and is tested to 3 ATM water resistance. The crystal is built to a retro curve from scratch resistant mineral. The finished timepiece is presented on a rich soft leather strap with a classic full tang buckle. This is the perfect dress solution and with British heritage!
Many of you of course know that Invicta recently partnered with Disney in the creation of character watches. Of those, one you may not have seen is this 47mm automatic released as part of the Pirates of the Caribbean series. The 316L steel sports a great distressed effect applied to both the 47mm case and 22mm bracelet. Tritnite lume on markers and hands beneath the Flame Fusion crystal as well as the unidirectional bezel. The caseback is decorated with a distinctive medallion illustrating the Pirates series. Contained within is the NH35A automatic movement. The finished timepiece is tested to 300M water resistance and the bracelet is finished with deployant clasp.
Another limited opportunity buy for the fans for the XOSkeleton DNA Retro series of timepieces as well as those that might also be automotive buffs...especially of Ferrari. In the case of this watch, DNA metal from a 1960 - 1963 Ferrari 250GT has been incorporated into the case. Accompanying each of the timepieces will be a certificate of authenticity. As is almost always the case with these DNA Retro timepieces, we are very limited in quantities and when they are gone, there will not be any more that we will be able to make available to you.
Alpina is a brand that came of age during two important events. First, aviation was just taking off (no pun intended) and wristwatches were just starting to become more popular with the general population and way from the more traditional pocketwatch. In the case of the Alpina Smartime Pilot, you are able to see a true vintage and military inspiration come through with just a few added modern enhancements. The 44mm case size (8mm thick) is an easy to wear mid-size timepiece. The military green dial serves as a fantastic background for the Swiss Made movement that includes a dual disc big date display. Even the aviation inspired caseback helps to set this timepiece apart. You don’t usually see Alpina discounted t this level. However, for a short time you can add this to your collection at a price that is going to be difficult to beat. Act quickly before it sells out!
